COL.:.

1921 CFICE

sir,

I have the honour to transmit in duplicate

an application from Mr. P. J. Taylor for appointment to the vacant post of 3rd Assistant Marine Surveyor. Mr. Taylor is over 32 years of age, but as he appears otherwise to be a suitable candidate for the post, I do not consider his age a serious objection. I propose that he should remain on probation for one year, and if he proves satisfactory that he should then be confirmed in his appointment. Pending

your reply have provisionally appointed Mr. Taylor to the post with effect from 1st October, 1921.
